Lisa and Little Miss on the Beach

When we went to Loon Point to bring the horses to the beach a few weekends ago, we happened to meet a lovely woman named Lisa.

Lisa was driving to visit her mother in Santa Barbara and suddenly felt the urge to stop en route to walk on the same beach she had brought her best friend of 35 years, a white horse named Little Miss, five years prior.

Little Miss was 30 years old when she headed to the beach to play in the water on the very same strip of sand where Lisa found us. They had a magical day together all those years ago, and so we all agreed that it simply had to be Little Miss who whispered in Lisa’s ear getting to pull over so she could remember that special moment and watch other horses and humans playing the way they had done. What a beautiful gift she gave to her beloved human Mama!

A few weeks later Lisa reached out to me to express the magic of that day for her, and I just read the post that she wrote about her life and farewell to Little Miss on Memorial Day of 2017.

Many amazing paragraphs later, and after five minutes of wiping away my own tears after reading her beautiful and touching story…..I would like to share Lisa and Little Misses post here as well. So bring out the box of Kleenex and enjoy the journey as I just did!
