Dear Tamara,

It was beyond spectacular and heartfelt to visit with you today and for our daughter to experience your farm and the animals.

Everyone is so happy and serene there, from Chester to beautiful horses to lovely donkey to proud turkey…to a snake hanging in the bushes (no wonder she never wants to leave your place)! Thank you so much!!!

It would be so great to see you and visit with you again, perhaps some time in the future, whenever you see fit. Thank you for everything and thank you to your husband for laurel leaves and lavender and rosemary. We all so much appreciated your spirit and kindness.

Warmest wishes,

L ~

Dearest Tamara,

IMG_0403.PNG

I’ve been wanting to send a note just to personally thank you so very much for our enchanted afternoon on your beautiful property last Friday! It was beyond what I could have expected , and you have created such a wonderful environment to enjoy and return to. And it was so lovely getting to meet you and learning more about the long journey it has taken to create and build such an oasis!

Thank you for teaching us how to feed those enthralling alpacas, the chance to meet the two most darling pigs I have seen, and enjoying the setting sun while circling with your horse. Unforgettable times.

I have already told most everyone I’ve spoken to since about you and your gem, and I look forward to our returning again soon.

Enjoy all your animals in the meantime, hope your son’s test turned out well!!, and all the warmest best,

D, J, R & C

We had the times of our lives and are still talking about it! I wanted to say thank you very much. Miles now wants to own a ranch with 5 dogs and is saving all of his money to take care of animals! You definitely impacted our lives by graciously opening your home and very loved animals to us. You are a very special person. I appreciate you sharing it with us. Sports are staring up and I asked Miles which one he wanted to do and he asked to learn to horse back ride. Millcreek had an opening today and he took a lesson. It was a very nice facility and now know exactly what you were talking about! We also saw the woman who was at your ranch the other day and said Hi! (I forget her name!)

I hope to see you soon.

Much love,

D & M

How amazing was our party! Thank you for making our child’s special day such a special moment for the whole family and our friends.

There’s a bit of magic in your home grounds, and apart from all the amazing scenery, animals, friendly little helpers and delicious food, it’s your fairy dust magic (lots of hard work with loving energy!) that holds it all together.

Very grateful indeed….😍

My daughter had her 6th birthday party at the farm and it was absolutely magical. All of the kids as well as the parents were blown away by what a beautiful event it was. One after the other, people were coming up to me (and calling me after) to tell me it was the best birthday party they had ever been to.

The kids were so enthralled interacting with the animals and getting to ride the horses. With that incredible view of the mountains and ocean, it was truly just breathtaking. I can't recommend the whole thing highly enough. Tamara and her crew of sweet helpers were unbelievably gracious, patient and accommodating.

Thank you so much for giving my daughter, our family, and friends such a wonderful experience none of us will ever forget!

We appreciate you having us so much. Cisco has just gone to sleep - he had the best time! The kids loved it and the adults loved it even more! You have such a beautiful property. Again, thank you so much for your hospitality and we hope to see you soon.

Henley’s 3rd birthday party at Walker Horse Farms was the most ridiculously magical day! I could not have even imagined a more special and perfect birthday party - filled with everything a child loves (animals, ponies, crafts, a bounce house, skateboarding, and so much more!). Every single child there was in utter heaven, and so many people told me it was the best kids birthday party they had ever been to.  Tamara was the most supremely generous and kind host, who went above and beyond to make the party so VERY special.  We are so grateful for the wonderful day everyone had, but especially Henley. : )  Thank you SO MUCH, Tamara and Walker Horse Farms!"

We are honored to have made it into a school writing assignment to describe one of the best days of Scarlett’s life!

Excerpt: My 9th birthday party was the best day of my life. I hope I remember it forever, because it was extremely exciting…In the morning, my family got in the car to go to Topanga Canyon….when we got there it was super cool and we were the first to check out all the fun stuff. I was so happy I could not breath….there were so many fun activities to do….everybody came over and told me, “This party is awesome Scarlett.”….then I got to do the thing I was most looking forward to…the half pipe!!! I was skating so much that I was tired after about 5 minutes….after that, since it was a farm, we got to play with the animals. I got to feed a fat, stinky, black, huge pig….when I was done I got to feed and play with the guinea pigs. They were really soft and loved to cuddle but when you cuddled them you got hair all over your shirt. After that I went to the chicken coop to feed the chickens….there was lots of hay and feathers. I got to hold one eventually, but at first it kept running away. It was super surprisingly soft. When I got tired of that, I got to go horseback riding. I was the first one at the whole party. It was fun since it was like a roller coaster, because the horse was going fast like on an obstacle course….after that we got to paint wooden sculptures….(then Scarlett went home for a sleepover with her friend)…That was the best two days of my life. I hope my 10th birthday is just like that. I loved it!

Thank you SOOO much for letting us come and hang out with your animals and thank you for bringing out Cinnamon. My friends loved your place and had a magical morning. Cameron was very proud to show his friends how to feed the animals with flat hands and show them where the chickens live. None of the kids wanted to leave.

Thanks again Tamara! Cheers, Annie

Hi Tamara,

I just wanted to say thank you for today. We just put Hannah to bed and she still was talking about all the horses she was riding today. Every time we visit your horse farm it is a delight! Thanks so much to you and your lovely little helpers to make this possible.

See you soon, Birgit

Hi Tamara,
Thank you so much for opening your beautiful home to our Pacific Point Academy community. My son absolutely loved every minute of our visit!  ...being outside with all of those incredible animals - truly amazing. He wouldn’t leave until he could find every dog to say “goodbye” to them. And to see Olenka with the horses and the others kids was so inspiring! What a wonderful space you and your family have created. I would love to schedule a visit for this summer. Again, thank you for an unforgettable experience!   xo Liza

Walker Horse Farms is a magical place where children can explore and families are welcomed with loving arms. There are few places in Los Angeles that capture this kind of hospitality, friendliness and beauty. My 1.5 year old got to hang out with a turkey, some pigs, chat up with guinea pigs and pet ponies. The owners and their sons are just genuinely cool individuals. My son loved learning to 'skateboard' while one of the boys helped him balance. As a new parent, this experience really gives me hope in what our children will bring to the future. It was such a cool moment, I was bummed not to capture it by photo. Thanks for opening up Walker Horse Farms to us all!

Not so long ago I asked my mom because I wanted to learn how to take care of horses and other animals. I also told her that I wanted to ride horses as well. My mom found the perfect place and I met Tamara and Olenka. They are so nice and caring. They always love when I come and ride. And of course the pony I ride every week, Sophie. I ride on Mondays and I usually dislike Mondays so horseback riding makes Mondays a whole lot better. Everything I learn from the ranch will be useful because someday I would love to become a veterinarian.

Thank you for giving the girls Charlotte and Maya an incredibly wonderful, truly Topanga experience. Their delighted faces have remained with us all week. You were so generous with your time and the horsie - ride, we are so grateful to have neighbors like you.

I had the best time at Walker Horse Farms. Mrs. Tamara was so kind to let me see the animals. The first animal I saw was the pigs. The pigs were so cute! Mrs. Tamara let me feed them rice chips.

Amaya.jpg

The second animals Mrs. Tamara let me see were the horses. Sovereignty and Cinnamon. Sovereignty is so, so gentle. He is also very nice. Cinnamon was very fun and great to ride. When we were taking a picture with Sovereignty he smiled.

The third thing I saw was the bunnies. The bunnies were so fluffy. The bunnies were fun to play with and catch. They were also fun to take pictures with.

IMG_5023.JPG

The fourth animal I saw were the goats. The goats were so cute. The goats love when you play with them. They are also very pretty.

The fifth animal I saw was the chickens. The chickens were so much fun to catch. The chickens also are very calm. They are just like dogs.

The last animal I got to see was the turkeys. The turkeys are very intelligent. They were pretty too when their feathers come out. They also make me laugh when they make a funny noise.

The last animal I saw was the alpacas. The alpacas are very cool and interesting animals. Fun fact: they only have bottom teeth, no top. That's why I like them.

IMG_5024.JPG

I am so honored to have the opportunity to see all of these animals.

Thank you for the most magical day. I loved getting to know each of your beautiful pets. I will never forget how you patiently took your time introducing each special little personality to me. What a gift! My heart is so full of love & peaceful harmony-all because of you...and your sons are so sweet & handsome too! Best day ever! You are so special!

Love, Stefi

Dear Ian, Olivia, Nicholas, Tamara, Sean and Luke,

Thank you very much for letting us visit your wonderful animals yesterday. Milana said it was the best day of her life and made a chart of the animals describing them, grading them (A or A+) and in the final column wrote 99% or 100% LOVE. At the top she wrote "My new friends" and 50%, which indicates how much she feels she knows them.

Ian, you went above and beyond a pony ride! Thank you for teaching all of us about the animals. As I mentioned, Anthony and I saved two pigs who were supposed to be sent from a petting zoo to the slaughterhouse, so I am always happy to see a pig in a good home. I do hope she finds herself a worthy mate if that is the plan. Enjoy the summer and thank you again for a magical day!

Love, Andrea

From Milana: Thank you so much. I loved looking at the animals. They were so cute. It was the best day of my life. I loved riding the horse. It was so fun...xoxoxo

Dear Walker Family,

Thank you so much for an amazing stay at this beautiful Ranch House. (We didn't want to leave!) Our stay has been truly wonderful and you have thought of everything in this stunning house. Your hospitality and kindness is beyond words and Cian had such wonderful time on the horses. His confidence grew with every ride and thank you so much for your patience with him in achieving this. If you ever make it to Ireland, please do call on us we would love to show you around our countryside if the opportunity arose.

Much love.....Irene, Cian, Lucy & Anthony

Winding up the canyons on a low gear away from the Pacific Ocean, I never tire nor fail to be completely awe struck by the intensity of the dramatic rock face and vastly spanning foliage. With a prayer for a bit of luck for clear road, tankful of petrol and a fair breeze, my anticipation heightens fervently with each lofty elevation for soon arrival at the Walker Compound.

Far exceeding any potential eagerness one could ever have to remain in the gorgeous beach haven of Malibu below, Walker Horse Farms draws you up towards the clouds like a magnetic hill pulling you up on itself, no amount of resistance effective.

A most desirable destination, atop the mountain and overlooking the valleys, Tamara and Nicholas Walker attract not only a multitude of lottery-winning animals lucky enough to reside full-time, but there are many human hearts rescued too into this farm paradise of the nation called Walker Horse Farms in Topanga Canyon.

Encompassing the most exquisite human and animal healing sanctuary on the west coast, my heart can only sing and lighten with joy when I'm amidst the company of the most special souls of Nicholas and Tamara who so brilliantly shine their lights and illuminate the paths for many a spiritual wanderer blessed enough to find their way to their door.

A welcome is always warm and friendly here. Met with either the snort of a pig, sniff of a dog, buzz of a bee, gobble of a turkey, hum of an alpaca or neigh of a stallion, the joys of presence to the senses are even far outweighed by the laughter and soulful embrace of their children who infiltrate all areas of the compound.

The meditation pod is exquisitely situated to satisfy any eternally desired solitude whilst the healing room will draw you in like a magnet for a treatment by Tamara to energise your body and elevate your soul. Beautiful glinting crystals surge-charging inner-peace all over the farm, as they exude ancient acceptance and unity between earth and sky.

Meandering the paths encircling the estate, the dust catching in my city shoes and so satisfying is the crunch. Grounding rapidly in nature's paradise, amongst the native and exotic establishing plants and foliage, I delight in the combined feast for all senses. The varied and wafting sound and scent of animal chatter and fragrances intermingle in a breathtaking union with nature's visual miracles. The evening sun resting in rapid descent against the piercing blue sky and infusing into the vast canyons a deep orange glow, that in turn gently cradles the Pacific waters into a reduced perspective typically reserved for the hawks themselves.

The only and most overwhelming difficulty I've ever faced at Walker Horse Farms is leaving it. A heartfelt and grateful salute to the Walker Family from me and my family for inspiring, creating and sharing an exquisite and visionary healing sanctuary that's situated on any side of the equator.

With much love from Aileen McKeagney and boys from NC and Ireland, Slainte ☘️

Jack and I had an opportunity to have our second horse whispering lesson with our lovely and generous host Tamara Walker. It was incredible and very enlivening to have her feminine understanding of what it is to communicate inter-species. Where do I begin? When one approaches these four legged brothers and sisters with openness, deep respect, a desire to serve and connect: "Would you like to be groomed,...where are your honey spots today? Let me know when you feel completely relaxed" ......a whole world opens up. You are first hit with the possibility of feeling and receiving unconditional love at an unimaginable level....like nothing I have ever experienced. Once there has been this deep mutual exchange to the horse's fill, then we are ready to ask, "Are you ready to warm up and go the ring?" The horse gives its head to be led to the arena, that is how connected we are. There we learn in total silence to direct with body language: walk this way...trot...stop...come here to rest and be loved and thanked". We then mount the horse/pony and practice synchronizing with our breath and our body, ever so slightly making indications, so that eventually all we need to do is think left or right or exhale to stop. This is the next level we will begin to share with all of our children at The Love School when we visit Walker Horse Farms. So exciting!     ~ Claudia ~

The Ranch House was a perfect spot for a weekend workshop with our Girl Scout troop. The house was so comfortable for our group. The girls had space to run around outside and also had space to crash out together in the large downstairs recreation room. The adults felt like it was a mini vacation rather than a workshop while drinking tea on the balcony, taking in the amazing ocean views and listening to music.

The owner is very responsive to anything you may need during your stay. We had planned on using wooden sticks to roast marshmallows, but instead the owner bought very nice metal roasting sticks and brought them to the house during our stay.

The Ranch House is delightful, our only problem was our stay was not long enough!

I welcome the opportunity to look at the chapter of illness in my life, thankfully through the lens of a rear-view mirror.  I still have two more years of medication and check-ups every six months to clear my body of any roque cancer cells and stack the deck against them ever rearing their ugly head again, but the end is almost in sight!

Your beautiful horses helped me through the most intense period, when I was weakest. I started visiting them on my walks past your beautiful home.  I had just undergone two surgeries and was getting daily radiation treatments.  I was physically exhausted and emotionally traumatized —not knowing what the next treatment benchmark would be or what complication might be waiting for me.

I remember walking around the glorious and jaw-droppingly beautiful bend, approaching the corral, and spotting the horses.  They immediately would spot me as well.  A beautiful sense would overwhelm me as I watched them stop, take notice, ears tilted forward towards me, and then they would come to great me as I started talking to them.

At that moment, the intensity of my predicament would vanish.  The look in their eyes communicated to me an affirmation of my inner strength as they offered me the gift of their power, their warmth and true friendship, their tenderness, their gratitude, their unabashed honesty and authenticity, their divinely earthy smell, and their big abundant "nuzzle hugs"!

I adored grooming them and would chuckle as they would vie for my attention. Though weak and often in physical pain, my time around your beautiful horses energized me and I would experience “a whole body smile”.   This is the medicine that wasn't prescribed, but for me was what helped me become one of the lucky who was freed from the shackles of cancer.
